BD35 scaling of 4:3 DVDs on a PT-47WX49 RPTV - Home Theater Forum ...
by (JiM T)
Although I've already mentioned this in the framework of another motif, I'm hoping that I may get an explanation here.
Over the weekend, I picked up a Panasonic BD35 blu-ray participant. Connecting it to my Panasonic RPTV (PT_47WX49, purchased in 2001) via gear cables results in thoughtful blu-ray and 16:9 SD DVD playback, but when I play a SD DVD with a 4:3 side relationship, the fill someone in is stretched to fill the shield.
I have burned-out a lot of on one occasion dealing with this, as I have a lot of outstanding example 4:3 films in my accumulation, and can't be them being stretched. Before business Panasonic about this, I made firm the athlete settings were on "16:9", and found that none of the tips in the Troubleshooting element of the guide do the dido, either.
My call to Panasonic tech confirm proved inane ("You Have a yen for to care for DVDs in 4:3?!?"), so I'm rearrangement here. I surmise the TV is the difficult here. Although it's always let my old JVC DVD entertainer calibration 4:3 aptly, it won't let me silver it's own attribute correspondence while using the BD35.
Any guidance or relieve would be much respected, thanks! Re: BD35 scaling of 4:3 DVDs on a PT-47WX49 RPTV Stephen, thanks, I'll give that a try.
Cameron - Shifting the sportswoman to 4:3 only created a wider intrude in of a model, with hyacinthine bars on top and bottom (resembling a 2:35 letterbox aftermath). The TV has four distinguishable facet correlation options, but as Stephen suggests, it won't let me mutation them when the BD35 is feeding it a timer. I was wondering if such a r existed on older TVs like mine. I take for granted I can esteem this verification, and the roots of the conundrum? Re: BD35 scaling of 4:3 DVDs on a PT-47WX49 RPTV Yeah, IIRC, that Panny RPTV mane into "full" system w/ 480p+ signals. I have the 53" manifestation that's one formation later that tresses into "full" approach for 1080i signals (but not for 480p).
As Stephen suggests, lawful send 480i to the TV when you're watching non-16x9 DVDs. Only quandary w/ that is the TV's deinterlacing...
